Comprehensive Emergency Medicine Training at a Level I Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke, and Certified Stemi Center
The PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a 12-month program designed to prepare residents for advanced practice as emergency medicine specialists in academic or community settings.
Residents train in the Charles F. Knight Emergency Department, a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Comprehensive Cardiac Center, with approximately 90,000 annual patient visits. Our residency offers a comprehensive emergency medicine experience tailored to the individual resident’s interests and career goals. Features of the program include:
- Working alongside experts across diverse clinical environments, including critical care, toxicology, prehospital medicine, perioperative medicine, and both community and pediatric emergency medicine.
- Option to develop elective experiences based on resident interest and preceptor availability.
- Opportunities available for didactic and experiential teaching at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy.
- Participating in longitudinal activities including code response, on-call program, committee involvement, and formal and informal presentations.
