LABOR & DELIVERY ROOMS

Our birthing suites are where you will have one of the most memorable experiences of your life. At the Women & Infants Center, our labor and delivery team will do everything possible to ensure that you are comfortable and prepared for your baby’s birth.

The new Women & Infants Center facility, located in two adjoining towers at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, is one of the largest and most modern in the region. A bridge connects the two buildings, making it easy for moms to visit their babies should they require special care in our Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Where to Go and How to Check In

If you suspect you’re in labor, go straight to the Women & Infants Center Women’s Assessment Center on the 5th floor of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Parkview Tower, open 24 hours a day. You can get directions and maps to plan your visit. If possible, you should call your doctor before coming to the hospital.

  • Rooms equipped for cesarean sections: If you need or choose to have a C-section, we have operating rooms set up for either emergency or planned C-section deliveries.
  • Mother-baby rooms: Mother-baby rooms are where you’ll go after delivery until you are ready to go home with your newborn.
